Fourdrinier Watermark

Fourdrinier Watermark is a translucent image created in paper on the paper making machine, with the use of a dandy roller. The image is generally the name of the paper or a company logo and can be viewed from both sides of the paper when it is held up to the light. A.k.a. a genuine watermark.

See also Artificial Watermark Geometric. This feature is effective primarily in document-present situations where the original document can be examined by a trained professional or scanned with a specialized 3-illumination ID scanner and analyzed with adequate forgery detection technology.

Usability in online and mobile onboarding situations is challenging as the examination is made not on the physical document but on a photograph or scanned image of it.
